Picture
A Moment Sitting Up There Like Jackie I, Mixed Media on canvas with embroidery, 2021

A solo art exhibition exploring the journey of self-discovery by artist Tracy Stirzaker

Pause, breathe, a moment passes

I pause for a moment to clear the scattered chaos of my mind
A thought comes forward
Wistfully I am thinking that if only
If only I had time
I would….

I would take time for myself

Drawing on her lived experience Tracy Stirzaker takes you on a journey of self-discovery and self-love, with her thought-provoking artwork including textiles, painting, encaustics, works on paper and immersive installations.

Pause for a moment and take time for yourself, as you explore the contemporary exhibition of Sydney artist Tracy Stirzaker.

Event: International Women's Day Panel Discussion - The Journey of Self Love, Self Worth and Creativity

This panel explores the journey of self-worth, self-love and creativity.

We all know amazing women who struggle with self-love or with imposter syndrome. Is that you?

Do you compare yourself to others? Do you hold yourself back? Did you know that you are not alone? What is self-worth? Is self-worth important?  How can we make this different? Does creativity and art play a role?

Let’s value and foster self-love and self-worth. Celebrating women on International Women’s Day, 2022.

Due to dramatic weather events this discussion was held my zoom, instead of at the Incinerator Art Space within the exhibition MORE MYSELF – A Journey of Self Love by Tracy Stirzaker.

This project has received funding from Willoughby City Council

Panelists include : Angela Raspass, Tracy Stirzaker

Moderated by Ann Buchner

About Angela Raspass
Angela Raspass is a Sydney-based business mentor, author, and self-worth educator, supporting women to step into their next chapter and do the work in the world they're here for. She brings a unique combination of insight, empathy and experience to her coaching, retreats, podcast and speaking engagements.

In 2003, after a corporate career in marketing, events and sponsorships, Angela launched a marketing agency from her dining room table and grew it to a point where she bought an office on the northside of Sydney and had a small full-time team.
By 2012 Angela realised she had created a business that leveraged her skills and experience but no longer fully engaged her. It wasn’t a fit for who she had become, a woman utterly changed by overcoming addiction, reconnecting with her self-worth, and developing a fresh vision and mission. She closed the agency and pivoted from consulting to mentoring, developing a potent blend of personal and business development tools that help her client's blend contribution, fulfilment and financial reward.

Angela is also the founder of the Centre for Self-Worth where she will soon be offering a Facilitators Certification Program for those who guide and support others, encompassing the Habits of Self-Worth through a blend of neuroscience, positive psychology and ACT (Acceptance Commitment Training).

Angela is a book lover, journal collector, soccer player and life-long learner. She lives in Bayview, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, with her husband and daughter.

About Tracy Stirzaker
Sydney based artist Tracy Stirzaker sees herself as an observer and critic of contemporary Australian society and is inspired by her lived experience.  Employing painting and textiles techniques, Tracy uses the repetition of motifs in her artwork to explore the emotional body within the everyday constraints of social politics, cultural values and beliefs.

Tracy Stirzaker has exhibited regularly in group exhibitions.  A finalist in both the Hunters Hill and the Ravenswood Women’s Art Prizes in 2018, Tracy had her first solo show at Gallery Lane Cove in 2018.  Tracy had her 2nd solo show in 2019 at White Rhino Artspace, a gallery she cofounded and directed, in St Leonards.  After years pursuing local art classes Tracy pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UNSW Art & Design 2016.

This project More Myself – A Journey of Self Love was awarded a Willoughby Arts & Culture Grant in 2021 and is her third solo exhibition.
